The only downer is Ozzie on the keyboards, which can get annoying, but Jerry's playing is incredible. The fall tour from 1981 is very good, as is fall 1982, May 1983 and August 1984.

But I cant disagree with what you and Jerlouvis said. My favorite shows are 2-2, 2-12 is exceptional, 2-22 (speaking of Dylan check out the It Takes a Train...) and 3-8.

Agreed love that show.

Check out 1-13-80 for some super prime dead of the same era.

Peace

You have a point with Ozzy and that some of his keyboard sounds were just awful, and to top it off I remember him being really loud in those small theaters they were playing,it was to bad because he was a talented guy and could really get there with Jerry when the jams got kind of strange. While I enjoyed the band throughout most of the 80's,I started to lose interest some after the fall 81' tour when he added Melvin and the back-up singers.I did not dig the overwhelming gospel vibe that slowly took root and found Melvin's playing to be really dull. That is a good It Takes Alot to Laugh,Billy D.,my favorites from that run were 2/17,2/23 and 2/29.
